Mr. Boykin was born and raised outside Childress, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Texas Tech University with honors in 1987 and graduated from the Baylor University School of Law in 1990. Mr. Boykin joined the firm in 1990 and became a partner in 1995. He received numerous scholarly awards during his academic career. Mr. Boykin is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law.

Over the past two decades, Mr. Boykin has represented financial institutions and indenture trustees in loan transaction throughout the United States. He has extensive expertise in the specialized area of trust indentures and indenture trustees. He has acted as counsel to indenture trustees in bond issues and other debt related transactions in both the documentation of such transactions, and in regards to creditors rights and workouts.

Mr. Boykin also regularly handles construction loans, commercial financing, mortgage lending, acquisitions and sales of commercial real estate, leasing, and landlord tenant matters. He has handled numerous high profile real estate matters including shopping centers, high rise office buildings, apartment complexes, residential and commercial subdivisions, industrial sites, and various types of agricultural land. Mr. Boykin's experience includes acquisitions and dispositions, creditors rights, development, management, financing, leasing, real estate litigation, operational issues related to the management of properties, as well as the negotiation of loan workouts, debt restructuring, and foreclosure.

Mr. Boykin is also active in community associations and organizations, serving on several local charitable associations, and in leadership positions in his church. His interests include his family, ranching, hunting.
