C. Jared Knight joined the firm in 2005. Jared is a trial lawyer licensed to practice law in Texas since November 1995. Prior to joining the firm, Jared had practiced in Amarillo for the past nine years at Whittenburg Whittenburg Garner & Stein, P.C. Jared is a member of the Texas and Amarillo Bar Associations, and has been awarded a BV® Peer Review Rating by the LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, as charitably-funded organization committed to building a strong justice system for all Texans. Jared’s practice focuses primarily on representation of plaintiffs or defendants in civil litigation, including business disputes, complex civil trials, appeals, personal injury matters, and employment disputes.
Jared was raised in Abernathy, Texas. After graduating valedictorian of his high school class, he attended college at West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M University) in Canyon, Texas, where he received the Dr. Harrold E. Melton Award for outstanding undergraduate student of the T. Boone Pickens College of Business and graduated summa cum laude with a B.B.A. in Accounting and Economics in 1992.
Following graduation from college, Jared and his wife moved to Austin, Texas, where Jared graduated with his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1995 and served as the Chief Notes Editor of the Review of Litigation.
After law school, Jared served approximately one year as a law clerk to the Honorable Jorge A. Solis, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division.
Jared is married to Velvet Knight, and they have two sons, Luke and Ben, and a daughter, Sterling. Jared and his wife are active members of Paramount Baptist Church.
